Yakima, Washington Fall 2017

We made it back to Yakima this year and had a fine visit.  We got in a little visiting, playing around and even a little bit of special projects work!  There were many fires burning in the PNW this fall and a considerable amount of smoke found its way into Yakima during several days of our visit.  On the worst days Jerry (Gari's dad) said that it was the worst he has ever seen there and that's saying something since he's been there over 80 years!

We were happy to get in several visits with Sandi & Sam out near Wiley City.  Sandi put on several fine dinners and Sam kept us entertained.

Cheeseburger in Paradise Night - LtoR Jerry, Sandi, Gari and Sam
Homemade Pizza Night with Sandi & Sam.
We rode into Wiley City one night after dinner for a haircut at Reba's Salon.
Sam and Gari prepare for a ride out into the back 180.
While Steve was taking pictures from a perch on the fence, Scary Cat climbed up for an ear rubbing.
All tacked up Gari & Sam stop for a barnyard portrait.

Sam & Gari exit the paddock trail right.
Sam and Gari head down the trail to the injured cow.  The goal is to bring the cow back up to the barn.  See ya after dark more than likely!
Whoopie displays her balance skills for Sandi and the company.
Steve gets a kiss from Whoopie while we wait for Sam & Gari to return.
We observed the solar eclipse from Yakima where the the eclipse was 95+%.  It did get a little dimmer and cooled off a bit, but nothing like the total darkness you get in the full eclipse path.
We turned our binoculars around and projected the eclipse image on the driveway.  The maximum eclipse was around 10:20 AM, so this picture was just a few minutes before the maximum.
This is the before picture of the 2 cycle Toro lawnmower project.  We didn't think to get the pretty after picture, but we are glad to report that it ran after we got everything back together.
This project is the stovetop out of our RV.  The electronic ignitor failed.
Gari inspects and cleans the underside of the stovetop while it is out and accessible.
We isolated the (intermittent) failure to a switch that sits on a valve.
There's the offending switch.  Now all we have to do is find a source for a replacement...
Enough work, need more play.  We were invited over to dinner with Laural and Don and we got to shoot the Potato Gun before dinner.  Amazing how far a potato will go with a little hairspray!
A little shopping at Hendo's Auto Customizing Shop.  Hendo is a great guy. He set Jerry up with some nice upfits at a very competitive price.   He had a huge carved revolver laying around in the showroom and Steve couldn't resist a little clowning around with that monster!
A Birthday homemade T-Bone steak dinner for Jerry.
Lots of Rummy 500... Jerry draws a Joker on his birthday!  Can't beat that!
