The Painted Desert.  Sedona, Arizona

We loved the beauty and excitment found in Sedona.  We drove through the same Black Hills Mountain Range where we found Mingus Mountain; plus we rode through the quirky mountain town of Jerome.  We didn't see a place where could fit Pepé our truck, so we didn't get to stop.  It was tight going through there in Pepé to say the least!  Once at Sedona we took a hike to Devils Bridge, a natural rock arch.

On the road through the mountains to Sedona.
A little color...
Switchbacks below.
Coming into Jerome, AZ at 5,000 ft +
The Jerome "J" on the hillside behind.
Some residences on the hilly landscape.
Road mirrors are needed to see around the tight corners; see Pepé in the mirror!
The tiny visitors center.
Haunted Hamburger joint on the left...
Hamburger Zombies?  Give 'em a burger they look skinny!
Rounding the corner out of Jerome.
Onward through the pass to Sedona!
Passing Castle Rock in Sedona, almost to the hiking area.
Gari setting the GPS at the Trailhead for the hike.
Long view of Balancing Rock from the Trailhead area.  See it at the right side?  It's a big rock!
Zoomed in a bit... looks like a head and face side view!
Super close; Balancing Rock, Sedona
Going along Chuckwagon Trail toward Devil's Bridge Trailhead.
Magnificient rock formations...
Nature's fantastic staircase.
2.5 miles in, we made the next trailhead.
Magnificient colors, and I don't mean my shade and dust bandanas!

Sedona's Painted Desert!
Steve going up...
More magnificient rocks and color along the way!
On the plateau just before the Devil's Bridge.  Someone left a rock stack on the point...
Moving closer...
Close up, looking over the edge.
 Steve on the plateu.
The Eagle's Beak across the valley.
And we can see the arch from here!
A little more zoom please...
The mountain keeps going up, but we won't go all the way up there.  Sun just sinking behind the ridgeline.
Finally at the arch.
Gari walked out on the arch!
Quick take lots of pictures!
Wow, that is up there!
Steve goes strolling out now that Gari has proven the safety ;-)
Pausing for the hero shot...
Steve contiues out the arch!  Where is he going?
Steve is on the point of the bridge. What a view!
What the camera see from the bridge point.
Looking back across the bridge from the point.  The next hero is waiting their turn on the arch.
Steve retreats back across the bridge.

A cobblers boot?
Oh the beauty of Sedona!
