Magnolia, Texas

This is the Houston, Texas star on our travel loops, where we visit dear old and new friends.  We found a new and very nice RV park this visit, which I am sure we will try to use again on our next visit.  The Houston Highway system has evolved since our last visit in 2014.  This time several of the major city highways were not only toll roads, but you had to have an electronic transponder to even use them.  There were a few segments that took cash but very few so that made our inbound trip a bit more difficult.  Houston being the largest city in Texas and fourth largest in the US has no lack of vehicular traffic!  Mercy!  Many of the young bucks drive their pickup trucks like stock cars here.  That can be very nerve racking.

A few shots around the Magnolia Forest RV Park, staring with the tasteful entrance.
Our spot and rig.  Notice the new addition?  It's hard to miss the odd colors!
Steve cooking up some dinner on the Weber Q.
Gari has the door open.  The temperatures have been in the mid 70s to mid 80s.
There is a small fishing lake in the middle of the park.  We tried our luck and caught a few Bluegills and a small Bass.
A picture along the walking path that winds around the small lake.
Of course we visited with Beth and Chris down on their Waller Ranch.  There's Beth flying with Joe the Astronaut at Happy Hour on the porch.
Steve & Chris taking inventory of all the doggies.  There's (l-r) Brownie, Bugsley, Parker, and Scruppy.
This was a Texas BBQ feed on the porch.  Old pal Ione came by for a visit and new friend Diana also joined in the fun.
I should mention that there was wine involved...
A few pictures from around Beth & Chris's ranch.  Gari meets a new horse on the ranch.
Beth & Gari taking charge at feeding time.
Beth herding horses to move to another pasture for feeding.
Look out, here they come.
Beth walks Tango in hand because he gets excited and runs around in the wrong pasture!
New friend Diana has Beth showing big ol' Texas Longhorns at a variety of venues.  That is two real Texas Cowgirls!
Beth has two big boys under control.
We went with Beth & Chris over to feed friend's animals  First stop Cookie's place.  Beth bringing out the Kubota Mule.
Gari is driving the Mule now, I think she is smiling!
 One of Cookie's dogs.
Next stop, Ione's place.  Ione has a pig, Ei Ei O!
And a goat, and some donkeys too!
The little black donkey was very friendly!
Steve loves donkeys!
Gari's Middle School and now longtime pal Wendy drove out to our RV Park for a visit.  It should be no surprise that Gari has magnificent friends.  What a fine day we had, wish there was more time.
We continue to plan and adjust our way east.  We made another change to our path.  We will leave for Livingston, Texas later this week and visit the headquarters of the Escapees RV Club there for a few days.  We have signed up for their SmartWeigh program.  We have an appointment to weigh every individual tire of our complete rig.  Then we will continue on to Nashville, Tennessee.
