First Visit at McGregor Lake

A couple years ago when we stayed just north of Flathead Lake in Kalispell, Montana and made our visits into Glacier National Park, we saw this really nice looking lake on our way out of the area.  That was McGregor Lake.  Mike & Carolyn have owned the lodge there for over 20 years.  They also owned the land that the RV Park is now on, but only developed the RV Park 4 or 5 years ago, and they did a very nice job of laying things out and setting up the campground.  We met up with our friends Lynn and Ed, and even had a day visit from friends Paul & Cheryl and their fuzzy kids Annie and Buddy.  We ended up staying at McGregor Lake for 5 weeks.  We bought annual non-resident fishing licenses and spent many mornings on the area lakes.  There is almost zero cell service at this campground.  We had to drive at least 9 miles to reach a reliable signal.  We saw that Ed and Lynn had a cell booster that did work occasionally; it seemed that early mornings and evenings were the best for attempting a call out.  We noticed that our cell booster purchased from New Horizons did not work at all.  We ended up replacing our unit with the same model as Ed & Lynn and we also enjoyed partial success.  That unit was Wilson's WeBoost Drive 4G-X OTR Truck Edition.

Gari silently trolls a single line across McGregor Lake.
Pepé the truck and Penelope the trailer are all settled in at McGregor RV Park for a five week stay.
The next day Ed & Lynn moved into the adjacent site (foreground).
Ed and Lynn provide campfire entertainment over the 4th of July holiday.
We toast to Lynn's new roll up camping table.
Ed, Lynn and Gari cool breezing it in the shade.
Gari assists Master Chef Ed with construction of homemade pizza, including the crust!  You can't buy pizza this good!
Lynn dishes out fresh pizza condiments to the photographer/condiment runner.
Wine sommelier Gari samples many wines.
Ed and Lynn deftly remove a very hot pizza from the pizza stone.
It's about to get delicious up in here!
Wine sommeliers Gari and Lynn aerate the evening's selection.
Lynn slices pie number 2.
Ed monitors the cooking progress as the hits keep on coming!
Now the gang is all here!  L to R: Paul, Lynn, Cheryl Steve (with Buddy) & Ed (with Annie)
After dinner we took a walk down to the lake, it was a bit windy that day.
In the next post we will talk about some of the other nice lakes right around this campground.
